SUMMARY:
A prestigious luxury group, with multiple companies in the luxury goods sector, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team based in Johannesburg North.

POSITION INFO:
This role offers the opportunity to work within a high-end, fast-paced environment that values excellence, precision, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger:
- Full responsibility for the general ledger across multiple entities
- Preparation and posting of journals, accruals, and provisions
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and the resolution of variances
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records
Lease Accounting:
- Managing lease accounting in line with applicable accounting standards
- Maintaining lease registers and calculating lease liabilities and right-of-use assets
- Monthly lease journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosures
- Liaising with property managers and internal stakeholders regarding lease agreements
Financial Reporting:
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
- Assisting with consolidated reporting across the group
- Supporting year-end financial statements and audit processes
- Providing meaningful financial analysis and commentary to management
Internal Controls:
- Maintaining and monitoring strong internal control environments
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards
- Identifying control gaps and recommending process improvements
- Supporting audit requirements and implementing audit recommendations

Minimum Requirements:

BCom Degree in Accounting / Finance
Proven experience as a Financial Accountant, preferably within a group structure
Strong technical accounting knowledge
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
