Financial Analyst

SUMMARY:
Our client based in the East Rand is looking for a Financial Analyst to develop and maintain financial solutions to achieve financial targets, as well as developing annual budgets & monthly forecasts which are aligned with company strategy

• Minimum grade 12 certificate
• BCom (Accounting) - Management Accounting preferred
• Minimum of 5 years accounting experience - CIMA or Studying towards (advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Manage and control financial reporting’s of a business unit within the Marketing & Sales division 
• Ensure all the necessary financial systems and controls are in place within the unit to meet compliancy requirements and to measure efficiencies and business performance
• Ensure that these systems and processes are monitored and maintained on a regular basis
• Accountable for the completeness of financial records for this unit
• Maintain financial integrity of accounts and ensure that they meet with IFRS requirements
• Liaise with auditors both internal and external to ensure compliance to relevant controls
• Compile annual budgets (full Income Statement and selected Balance sheet components) and monthly forecasts in collaboration with business partners as per shareholder requirements
• Compile weekly Dash reports as an indication of the current month performance
• Compile and report accurate monthly flash figures as an outlook on the month end on day 1
• Complete and report monthly actual results on day 5
• Provide monthly financial reports to all business stakeholders
• Analyse income statements (actual vs budget vs forecast) in detail and provide feedback to the respective stakeholders highlighting variances & explanations thereof against budget, prior year, forecast et al and to ensure that where applicable action plans are put in place
• Monthly margin analysis
• Conduct General Ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis and ensure that there is monthly sign-off of certain general ledger accounts
• Complete Insurance Declaration on an annual basis for this unit
• Ad hoc projects – including et al financial feasibility studies or viability studies to maximise financial performance, reporting and efficiencies of the business
