Financial Analyst

Purpose:

Modelling, evaluating, and optimizing the loan portfolio with regards to Impairments and incurring lower charges. Guiding the team and organization in ensure the highest standards of impairment modelling are met.

Minimum requirements:

• BSc / BCom strong focus on Statistics III or Mathematics III or Actuarial
• 3-years’ experience in Credit Analysis, Financial Analysis in the financial sector - 1 years Financial Modelling, Impairments

Duties and responsibilities:

1.Conceptualize, build, and implement new Impairment Models.

• Forecasting
• Bridging methodology for loan level Provisions

2.Conceptualize, build, and implement loan Level provisions.

• Forecasting
• Understanding operational dependencies

3.Guide Collections in possible collections opportunities.

• Focus on strategic direction
• Input into mix of sales which can be managed effectively with current operation’s
  model

4.Maintaining IAS39 standards and methodology.

• Engaging with Finance for the required provisions levels.
• Communicating and engaging with internal and external Auditor’s on adequacy of
  provisions

5.Collections Targets.

• Collections Manco
• Creating value add by driving cash collections targets

6.Develop and maintain a reporting framework.

• Provide strategic guidance/direction.
• Guide and assist staff members with through the problem-solving process.

7.Develop and manage junior team members.

• Create and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients by providing advice and assistance.

Skills required:

• Software: MS Office, with Advanced EXCEL skills, SQL, SAS, JMP
• Strong Analytical and Statistical skills.
• Strong programming and automation skills.
• Strategic thinking
• Financial Modelling

Salary : R384k -600k per annum (depending on experience)
