POSITION INFO:

Our business, built on engineering excellence and a robust supply chain, relies on a strong finance function to ensure profitability, manage capital investment, and maintain financial integrity in a dynamic global market.

Step into a high-impact Financial Controller position where you will go beyond compliance and reporting to influence strategic decisions. You will be the key financial partner to operations, providing insights that shape manufacturing performance and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Full ownership of financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, statutory compliance, and consolidated group reporting.
Drive cost management initiatives by analyzing key manufacturing cost drivers such as raw material usage, scrap rates, energy consumption, and labour efficiency.
Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic objectives.
Leverage ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE) to streamline processes, enhance data accuracy, and deliver actionable insights on production costs and variances.
Oversee CAPEX planning, approval processes, and post-implementation reviews to ensure optimal return on investment.
Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
Mentor and guide finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

SAICA-accredited BCom Accounting Degree (or equivalent).
Completed SAICA articles (trainee contract) is essential.
5+ years post-articles experience, preferably in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of standard costing, production variances, and inventory valuation.
Proficiency in a major ERP system (SAP, Oracle, JDE).
Experience in metal manufacturing, mining, heavy engineering, or automotive will be highly advantageous.
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.
