SUMMARY:
Join a rapidly growing multi-store restaurant and franchise group as a Financial Controller and play a pivotal role in supporting the next phase of expansion. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function, partner closely with operational leadership, and oversee a high-performing finance team. POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Take ownership of the finance function and support the Financial Manager in driving business performance Prepare and present monthly financial results across multiple stores and the broader group Analyse store profitability, including sales, food costs, labour costs, and operating expenses Monitor key performance drivers and provide meaningful financial insights to management Ensure effective cash management, daily sales reconciliations, and working capital control Oversee SARS compliance, including VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax requirements Maintain strong internal controls and ensure audit readiness across the business Develop and improve finance and operational SOPs Enhance financial and operational reporting processes Lead and support the finance team, including the Debtors & Creditors Manager, Payroll Manager, and Senior Accountant Collaborate with operational stakeholders to support profitability, growth, and decision-making Skills & Experience: Financial Management or Financial Controllership experience Strong commercial finance and operational finance background Experience leading and developing finance teams Strong knowledge of financial reporting, controls, budgeting, and cash flow management Exposure to retail, FMCG, hospitality, franchised, or QSR environments - advantageous Strong understanding of SARS compliance and statutory requirements Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with accounting systems such as Pastel, Sage, Xero, or similar Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-paced, multi-site environment Qualification: SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, or AGA(SA) Bachelor's Degree in Accounting OR Equivalent Completed SAICA Articles - advantageous For more information connect with us on and Register your CV to create a profile and to view all our Financial recruitment vacancies.
