POSITION INFO:
Our client is a specialist engineering services company providing advanced concrete scanning, non-destructive testing (NDT), structural investigation, and asset integrity solutions across the infrastructure, energy, industrial, and construction sectors. Their projects span South Africa and the broader African continent, supporting clients involved in wind farm developments, power generation facilities, bridge construction, industrial plants, and major infrastructure projects. Their office in Brackenfell (CT) is seeking a Financial Controller\/Senior Finance Manager\/Commercial Finance person to join their management team. Ideally someone from the building\/engineering industry. Experience: 7-10 years finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Financial Controller\/Senior Finance Manager\/Commercial Finance role. E xperience in Buildsmart \/ ERP Systems, advanced Excel, Sharepoint would strongly prefer someone who has dealt with a business in roughly the R75m-R250m turnover range rather than someone coming exclusively from a huge corporate environment. Salary: R80k- R100k CTC per month Responsibilities: Responsibility Area Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Management Accounts Prepare and oversee monthly management reporting, financial analysis, KPI reporting and variance analysis. Provide clear financial insights to executive management. Budgets & Forecasting Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes. Monitor actual performance against budgets and investigate significant variances. Working Capital Management Actively manage debtors, creditors, cash conversion and working-capital requirements. Identify opportunities to improve cash conversion and reduce cash tied up in operations. Cash Flow Management Maintain short- and medium-term cash-flow forecasts, including a detailed 13-week cash-flow forecast. Anticipate funding requirements and cash-flow constraints. Project Financial Analysis Analyse individual project revenue, costs, margins, WIP, cash flow and profitability. Identify underperforming projects and provide early warnings to management. VAT & Tax Compliance Oversee VAT, provisional tax, income tax and other statutory tax requirements. Coordinate with external tax advisers and ensure SARS compliance. Payroll Oversight Review payroll processes, reconciliations, statutory deductions, controls and reporting while ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance. Audit Management Coordinate annual external audit\/review processes, prepare audit information and schedules, manage auditor queries and ensure findings are resolved. Month-End & Year-End Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information and appropriate supporting reconciliations. Financial Controls Develop, implement and monitor internal financial controls, approval authorities, segregation of duties and finance policies\/SOPs. Banking & Finance Facilities Manage banking relationships, overdrafts, asset-finance facilities and other funding arrangements. Monitor facility utilisation, covenants and renewals. Guarantee Facilities Manage performance, retention and other guarantee facilities, including applications, limits, utilisation, expiry dates and relationships with banks\/guarantee providers. Vendor Management Oversee the financial aspects of strategic supplier relationships, including payment terms, supplier exposure, performance and commercial negotiations. Procurement Finance Monitor procurement spend, PO compliance, supplier terms and cost-saving opportunities. Provide financial oversight of significant purchasing decisions. Risk Management Maintain financial and commercial risk controls, identify emerging risks and ensure appropriate mitigation and reporting to executive management. Insurance Management Oversee the company insurance portfolio, renewals, claims, adequacy of cover, asset values and relationships with brokers\/insurers. BBBEE Compliance Coordinate financial information required for BBBEE planning and verification, including procurement\/spend analysis and supporting documentation. Employment Equity (EE) Coordinate finance-related information and reporting required for Employment Equity compliance and support the company''s broader compliance process. Financial Planning & Decision Support Develop financial models and business cases for major investments, equipment purchases, financing decisions and strategic initiatives. Executive Financial Support Provide management with forward-looking financial insights, identify financial risks\/opportunities and make recommendations to improve profitability, cash generation and business performance. Payroll Preparation Payroll preparation for senior staff Customer Vendor Management Manage and maintain the company''s registrations and financial\/compliance requirements on customer vendor databases and portals. Ensure vendor documentation remains current, including company information, tax compliance, banking details, BBBEE certificates, insurance, COID and other required documentation. New vendor registrations, renewals and updates, resolve vendor-related queries, and ensurethe company remains compliant and active on key customer procurement systems to avoid delays in tendering, purchase orders, invoicing and payment.
