POSITION INFO:
A well-established technology-driven business operating within the energy sector is looking for a commercially astute Financial Controller to take ownership of the financial function and play a key role in supporting business performance. This is not a role for someone who wants to spend their career buried in reconciliations and month-end checklists. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, provide meaningful financial insights, strengthen controls and processes, and help translate financial information into better business decisions. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee monthly financial reporting and month-end close processes Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial statements and management reporting Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making Monitor cash flow, working capital and overall financial performance Oversee audit, tax, statutory and compliance requirements Strengthen financial controls, governance and reporting processes Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and operational efficiency Partner with senior management and operational stakeholders Lead, mentor and develop the finance team Job Experience & Skills Required CA(SA) qualification essential 5+ years' post-articles experience Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Financial Manager or similar senior finance role Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience Commercially minded with strong business partnering capabilities Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis Strong ERP and advanced Excel proficiency Experience managing and developing a finance team Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Experience within a project-driven, engineering, technology or energy environment would be advantageous Why This Role?
