Area: Northern suburbs, Cape Town
Position is office based
Package between R1,0m CTC P/A= R83k CTC P/M up to R1,2mCTC P/A = R100k CTC P/M
Purpose of the position: Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Manager partners with the Management team and is responsible for the operational and financial performance of all business units within South Africa. This role will business partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, IT and various internal and external stakeholders
Responsibilities
The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the financial and accounting operations. You will be responsible for budget planning, compliance and reporting whilst supporting the senior management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the best business decisions for the company.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of monthly management results, forecasting, annual budgets and Corporate financial reporting
- Provide hands on management and leadership support to the finance team
- Provide analysis on financial, product, margin and profitability
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of financial models, management reports, and the budgeting and forecasting processes
- Lead change including re-engineering processes to optimise growth and performance across the business
- Drive efficiencies through improving process and reporting standardisation
- Lead the transition of reporting systems into OneStream which will be the new global consolidation and forecasting tool
- Partner with senior management and business stakeholders to drive financial performance
- Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly and follow up reconciling items
- Assist in development and implementation of SAP and other ERP systems and ensure the requirements of business are fully met
- Preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and annual reports for all entities
- Support and assist in the transition of another business into the holding company
- Assess Capex budgets vs actuals and optimize ROI
- Project manage merger of two locally based related entities
Skills, experience & Requirements
- Finance related degree with a professional qualification preferred (CIMA or CA equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce
- Minimum of 10 years’ Commercial & Financial experience, ideally within Manufacturing or FMCG
- Previous Project Management and Business Analyst experience within a medium to large organisation
- Demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement
- Able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience - translating this into business insights
- Strong communication and stakeholder management, and relationship building skills
- Collaborative and team player with a hands-on approach
- Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen insights
- Experience with Syspro, SAP, Excel, Essbase and BI reporting
- Attention to detail as this person will be doing month-end and year-end reporting to global
- Must have experience working with tax, income tax and deferred tax
- Experience in compiling statutory financial statements
- Experience using the mentioned systems: Essbase reporting tool/ Syspro/Qlikview
