POSITION INFO:

Are you a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Manager looking to contribute to a dynamic, education-focused environment? A well-established, independent school based in Parklands, Cape Town is seeking a Financial Manager to join their dedicated team.

? About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Head of School and the Group Financial Director, you will play a pivotal role in managing the school’s full financial function. This hands-on position requires someone with strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

? Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of provisional and final budgets, monthly cash flow and management reports
Monitoring of budget controls and general ledger reconciliations
VAT and EMP201 submissions
Supplier capturing, reconciliations, and payments
Debtors control: invoicing, reconciliations, collections, and enforcing suspensions
Payroll processing and eWallet reconciliations
Handling of Forex transactions, journals, and approval of purchase orders
Processing of refundable deposits and allocation of annual levies
Camp costing and extramural reconciliation
Coordination of annual audit requirements, including working papers and audit queries
Ensuring correct invoicing, bursary allocations, and discounts
Managing operational stock and refreshments
Oversight and guidance of a Financial Assistant
Other ad hoc financial duties as required

? Requirements:

Minimum 3–5 years of financial management experience
A relevant finance/accounting qualification
Strong working knowledge of financial systems and reconciliations
Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience within an education environment is advantageous
