SUMMARY:
Our client, a diamond mining company based in Northern Suburbs Cape Town, is seeking a Financial Manager to join their team.

The purpose of the role is to oversee and manage the company’s finances and ensure the financial well-being of the company. The financial manager also drives the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices for the company and ensures financial compliancy as regulated by Law.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilitites:

Manage and oversee intercompany accounts.
Monthly management reports Review and approval of journals.
Prepare statutory tax schedules for payments.
Review all foreign payment schedules.
VAT and TAX submissions, including income tax, royalty tax, expat levies.
PAYE, SDL, UIF submissions. Review of payroll for approval by CFO.
Review of bank, petty cash reconciliations prepared by finance team and release of payments.
Monthly GL reviews
Monthly review of creditors and debtors books.
Review and approval of Vendors
Review and approval of Purchase Orders.
Implement and maintain financial controls.
Performance evaluations of the team
Supervision of finance team
Ensuring finance team meets all set company and statutory deadlines.
Completion and submission of all SARB and Stats SA reports
Review of budget and forecasts
Statutory audits (annually)

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree Finance, Accounting, Financial Management
Registered CA(SA)
Minimum 5 years experience as a Financial Manager
Excellent communicating, planning, organizing & management skills
Service delivery orientated, taking ownership and responsibility for tasks
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Thorough and attention to detail
High numeracy and accounting skills
Problem solving initiative
Good business acumen
