Financial Manager

Duties:

• Manage the full financial accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Review monthly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS requirements
• Oversee budgeting processes and capital forecasting
• Manage cash flow and daily cash management activities
• Prepare and review month-end reconciliations and trial balance support files
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
• Manage quarterly and annual regulatory returns
• Provide financial insights through data analysis and reporting to support business decision-making
• Lead and manage a team while driving performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Oversee the external audit process and ensure deadlines are met
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and controls

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Accounting
• BCom Honours
• CA(SA) qualification is essential

• Completed SAICA articles (essential)
• 3+ years post-articles experience (financial services industry advantageous)
• Previous team management experience
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax, VAT, and regulatory frameworks
• Understanding of insurance industry regulations advantageous
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience (e.g., Sage / Caseware)

• Strong financial accounting and reporting expertise, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights
• Solid understanding of IFRS, tax, VAT, and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency (e.g. Sage, CaseWare or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with large volumes of financial data
• Effective planning, organisational, and time management skills to meet strict deadlines
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience guiding and developing junior team members
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls
• High levels of integrity, accountability, and professionalism in handling financial matters
