POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description A well-established and growing organisation within the mining and resources sector is looking for a Financial Manager to join its Head Office finance team in Sandton . Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial accounting environment while leading and developing a team of five Financial Accountants . This is a role for a Financial Manager who remains close to the detail. You will review and approve your team's work, resolve complex accounting matters, drive a strong financial control environment and take responsibility for accurate and timely reporting across designated entities. You will have exposure across financial statements, consolidations, management accounts, taxation, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, stock, fixed assets, audit, payroll and process improvement . For an ambitious CA(SA), this represents an opportunity to build meaningful leadership experience while strengthening your technical and operational finance exposure within the mining industry . Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, mentor and develop a team of five Financial Accountants Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and review the integrity and accuracy of financial information Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial reports and consolidations Prepare and draft Annual Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS Manage month-end and year-end close processes Coordinate and lead the year-end external audit process for designated entities Manage Corporate Income Tax, VAT and Royalty Tax calculations, returns and compliance Prepare and review budgets, forecasts and cash flow forecasts Investigate financial variances and trends and provide meaningful financial insight to management Maintain and strengthen the overall financial control environment Oversee stock management , including weekly\/monthly reporting and adherence to SOPs Manage fixed assets and cost controls Review payroll and oversee monthly payroll submission Drive improvements across financial systems, processes, controls and reporting Engage with auditors and key internal and external stakeholders Job Experience and Skills Required Education: CA(SA) - non-negotiable Experience: Minimum 3 years' post-articles experience Strong financial accounting and reporting experience Previous exposure to the mining industry will be highly advantageous Demonstrated experience working within a strong financial control environment Previous staff management, coaching or leadership exposure Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of IFRS Sound knowledge of corporate taxation and statutory compliance Advanced Microsoft Excel Experience preparing financial statements and management accounts Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and variance analysis capabilities Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) exposure advantageous Draftworx knowledge advantageous Why consider this opportunity?
