POSITION INFO:

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Ownership for preparation and delivery of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure the adherence to the internal control’s framework
• Provide support and undertake activities for month end and year end close
• Lead delivery of external audit requirements
• Calculation and submission of tax returns and preparing the responses to SARS including VAT, PAYE, DWT, STT, Income tax
• Accounting for corporate and other taxes
• Fixed asset additions and depreciation
• Maintaining leases and fixed asset schedules
• Approving supplier payments
• Weekly monitoring of unallocated payments
• Oversight and review of weekly bank reconciliations
• Processing and posting of journals entries to the finance system and reconciliation
• Preparing the monthly reporting including but not limited to consolidated income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, compliance, intercompany loans
• Preparing the disclosure notes to the AFS and reviewing the draft AFS
• Monitor financial transactions and ensure the information is accurate
• Assist with any finance and other related administrative functions
• Weekly and monthly cash forecast
• Drive process improvements

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Relevant professional accountancy qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior accountant / financial manager
• Experience working with MS Packages (Word, Excel, MS Teams)
• Strong Excel knowledge
• Good experience working with ERP systems and financial dashboards
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation
• Sound knowledge of accountancy techniques and practices
• Strong attention to detail coupled with problem solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
• Excellent time management to balance routine tasks and ad hoc requests
• strong organisational skills to manage priorities and meet deadlines without compromising quality
• High integrity and strict confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
