JOB SUMMARY:
A global leading Customer Management Outsourcing solution provider specialising in delivering exceptional customer experiences across multi-platforms is looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for the accuracy, validity, and completeness on recording the cost of newly acquired tangible and intangible assets (fixed assets), including the tagging, verifications, transfers, and disposals of the existing assets. Completion of fixed assets general ledger accounts reconciliations in adherence to the international financial reporting standards, the Company’s policies, procedures, and timelines. It is also to ensure effective maintenance of depreciation calculations.

Key Performance Areas:
Fixed Assets Acquisitions, Transfers and Disposals on the Company’s Fixed Assets System

Processing of newly acquired fixed assets
Processing of transfers and disposals of existing fixed assets,
Performing of depreciation calculations for all fixed assets monthly
Performing of periodic reviews on fixed assets for impairment recommendations.

Fixed Assets Tagging and verifications

Ensuring that newly acquired fixed assets are scanned into the system and allocated tag numbers to effectively track them
Performing of fixed assets periodic verifications and
Collaboration with auditors on internal and external audit assignments.

Fixed Assets Reconciliations and Reporting

Performing of fixed assets general ledger accounts reconciliations at month ends
Clearance of reconciling items so as not to create an audit risk at quarter ends and year ends audit reviews and
Performing of fixed assets related analysis as may be requested by management.
Complete record keeping of all fixed assets related documents.
Analysis of fixed assets actual spend against budget and forecast.
Trend analysis of spend and cost patterns.

Fixed Assets Policies, Procedures and Standards

Supervising the system of procedures, forms and controls in line with the Company’s Policies and IFRS
Directs all business units in the appropriate action when transferring fixed assets between business units and when disposing assets internally and externally,
Directs Facilities and IT Teams in the appropriate action when implementing changes in line with IFRS and the Company’s policies
Recommendation of updates to accounting policies affecting fixed assets to management.

Fixed Assets System and Adhoc

Maintenance of the Company’s fixed assets system to ensure that the system’s financial performance is effectively managed and aligned to SARS guidelines.
Fixed Assets general administration.

Qualifications:

BCOM/BCOMPT/Diploma in Accounting from recognized institution
Minimum of 2 years Fixed Assets Accounting / Asset Control experience
Computer Literacy: Advanced Excel experience
