A reputable and leading insurance provider is looking for an experienced Fund Accountant to join their finance team.

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Fund Accountant will be responsible and accountable for effectively managing a portfolio of funds allocated, on a day-to-day basis to ensure the organizations administer the Fund to the best of its ability in accordance with Client expectations. The Fund Accountant will be responsible for ensuring each fund is administered in line with Service Level and Service Provider Agreements, its Rules, Rule amendments and all Board Resolutions plus decisions. The successful candidate will be responsible for client liaison, compliance, yearend debtors and creditors processes, disinvestments, and tax. The successful candidate will be responsible for bank reconciliations and year end financial statements.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

BCom Honors in Accounting
Completed SAICA articles is non-negotiable

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

Experience in the insurance/financial services industries is preferred
At least 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience managing a portfolio of funds In line with Service Level and Service Provider Agreements
Experience building and maintaining client relationships
Experience with Caseware is preferred
Experience dealing with tax, bank reconciliations, financial year end and debtors and creditors
