SUMMARY:
GCC (Factories) Engineering Maintenance Manager, Engineering Industry, Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:

Our client, a renowned leader in the Engineering industry is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic GCC (Factories) Maintenance Manager to be based at their Turfontein, Gauteng Operation.

Compensation is benchmarked at R60,000 - R85,000 per month.

MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE:

• To principally manage and oversee all mechanical and electrical maintenance systems, processes, practices, and people to support the operational department actions, aligned with operations plan to ensure plant optimisation and efficiency, maintenance planning, and capital spares optimisation.
• To be the pivotal driver responsible for implementing preventative maintenance strategies to minimise downtime and maintain a safe and functional work environment.
• To manage and monitor unit health, safety, environmental and quality aspects.
• To ensure sound and effective financial management.
• To build solid customer and supplier relationships.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• At minimum a BSc or B.Eng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
• An M.Eng. would be an added advantage.
• At least 5 years’ experience in maintenance and engineering roles in an industrial/manufacturing environment, with exposure to the main engineering and plant optimization.
• GCC Factories accreditation would be an added advantage.
• GMR (2.1) experience will prove a distinct advantage.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be responsible for the assessing and maintenance planning to prevent machine and operational failures.
• Ensure Business improvement initiation and implementation.
• Ensure effective and efficient reporting to enable strategic decision-making.
• Ensure effective people leadership and mentoring.
• Ensure efficient Quality upgrading and replacing operational equipment critical for gaining a competitive advantage.
• Ensure Engineering support for the operation.
• Ensure people are managed effectively.
• Ensure that finance resources are managed within approved parameters.
• Ensure the availability and total efficiency targets of the operation are achieved.
• Ensure the rigorous assessment and consistent planned prevention of machine and operational failures.
• Ensure the timely upgrading of and replacement of required machine components and technology.
