General Manager

SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced General Manager based in Rustenburg, Northwest and hands-on business leader with impeccable funeral business credentials. Must possess sound leadership and financial management skills and an ability to implement strategy and manage operational processes effectively. A customer-centric inclination will give the suitable candidate an edge.

POSITION INFO:
KEY STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the development & implementation of the Co-operative's strategy in consultation with the Board; Develop & implement an effective & efficient system of internal controls, information management and other necessary business management systems; Implement an effective system of financial, risk, procurement and human resources management; Ensure the Co-operative adheres to high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility in its business operations; Account to the Board monthly by submitting reports; Maintain effective communication between management, the board, co-operative members and other key stakeholders; Apply innovative and creative measures to boost business growth and keep pace with funeral industry developments; Ensure the Co-operative and all employees comply fully with all applicable laws, the co-operative constitution, standards and policies; and Implement Board decisions and directives as and when required. KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken; A logical thinker with strong financial, management, analytical and organizational skills; Possess problem solving skills; People and Time management skills; A solution oriented, conscientious person who pays attention to detail; Ability to analyse and interpret financials and take remedial action in accordance with policies and procedures Team player; Ability to work independently; Networking skills; Must possess initiative; be driven, committed, positive and hardworking; and Capable of meeting tight deadlines and possess a temperament to work under pressure. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: SAQA accredited B. Comm, B. Bus. Science, Diploma (Business Management), Diploma (Financial Management). 5 -10 years management experience in the funeral or financial services sector. Exceptional leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and develop employees. Unendorsed Driving License and must be prepared to travel; Computer literate NOTE: Vetting of candidates will be performed to check criminal records, adverse credit records and qualifications authentication. Candidates with criminal records, adverse credit records and unverifiable academic qualifications will be disqualified (Five Years Fixed Term Contract)
