Our client is a leader in the agricultural sector, supplying both local and international markets through multiple large-scale production units and sophisticated warehouse and operational facilities. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, commercially minded leader with a genuine passion for agriculture to play a central role in driving operational performance, growth and innovation within a fast-paced, high-impact environment. The appointment requires an executive who is equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and engaging with the operational detail of a complex, high-pressure production and warehousing environment. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership capability, sound financial discipline, a focus on operational excellence and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety. Key Responsibilities Executive Leadership: Lead, develop and inspire a senior management team, set clear operational strategies and ensure effective execution of the organisation's business objectives. Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations, assets and warehouse activities, ensuring efficiency, reliability and compliance with food safety and quality standards. Drive proactive problem-solving, effective decision-making and continuous operational improvement. People Management: Provide strong leadership across the organisation, with responsibility for team development, performance management, succession planning and fostering a culture of accountability and high performance. Logistics and Supply Chain: Oversee transport, storage and distribution activities, ensuring an efficient, reliable and cost-effective supply chain. Engineering and Technical Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and technical teams to optimise processes, infrastructure and equipment performance, while supporting ongoing investment in operational capability. Financial and Strategic Oversight: Monitor operational and financial performance, drive cost control and efficiency, and contribute to strategic planning, business expansion and capital investment initiatives. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, business partners and other stakeholders, representing the organisation professionally at senior level. Position Requirements senior management experience , ideally gained within agribusiness, food production, FMCG or large-scale industrial operations. A proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, operational performance and risk oversight . A relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field . Strong technical aptitude and the ability to engage confidently with engineering, production and operational matters. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Afrikaans . Strong presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at executive, operational and stakeholder level. A highly organised and decisive approach, with the ability to prioritise effectively, perform under pressure, meet demanding deadlines and consistently maintain high standards. A hands-on, commercially minded leadership style, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution .
