General Manager - Logistics

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a General Manager - Logistics, for a permanent vacancy based in East London, Eastern Cape

POSITION INFO:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

-                     BComm Honors in any field (MBA optional)

-                     Diploma in Supply Chain Management / Logistics Management

-                     Valid driver’s license and clear criminal record

-                     5+ years’ experience in a professional logistics environment with fuel industry experience essential

-                     Fluency in English with Xhosa advantageous

-                     Knowledge of Industrial Relations

-                     High level of computer literacy (Excel) and advanced understanding of vehicle maintenance

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

-                     Assist the set up process of the company and operations, policies, procedures, recruitment, training and regulatory requirements

-                     Sales and marketing – new client prospecting, develop suitable proposals and ensure revenue growth

-                     Ensure compliance – safety, financial, quality, systems, control and performance evaluation of same

-                     Motivate, direct and develop team

-                     Annual and monthly budgets

-                     Staff performance management

-                     Manage contractors and regulatory authorities

-                     Must be willing to travel when required and visit customers when needed

-                     Must be willing to work overtime and be on standby as required
