General Manager - Spa and Guesthouse– Cape Town

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a General Manager with high energy levels to take over the running of their Guesthouse, Spa and Conference Centre.

POSITION INFO:

Job Specification

Oversee all aspects of the operation of the Guesthouse and Spa to secure the maximum in revenues and guest satisfaction

Assist in positioning the Guesthouse and Spa in a recognizable position in the marketplace

Supervising staff

Maintaining high standards

Marketing and promotions

Growing the business

Financial record-keeping of all businesses

Manage and motivate staff

Handle client complaints

Ensure great relationships with Corporate clients and Guests

Rooms and areas kept to 5-star standards

Conducting payroll of Staff

Practice continued cost control through adherence to agreed budgets

To oversee and control all stocktaking

Personally greet and interact with as many customers as possible with concept of creating a personalized environment

Resolve all guest complaints personally and in absence follow up by telephone or post to ensure guest satisfaction

Hold regular communications meetings with all employees and the Management team

Develop all employees through to use of appraisals, training and development

Achieve all targets

Create an aggressive Marketing Plan to increase the market share

Support of our service culture maximized operations and guest satisfaction

Hands-on – inspecting property/rooms before guests arrival

Maintenance issues to be supervised and delegated

Staff issues to be addressed immediately (lateness/tardiness / not following dress code)

Running of the events/conference business

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent

Relevant Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management / Food and beverage

3-5 years previous experience in a similar role

Bilingual in English and Afrikaans

Prior hotel experience hugely beneficial

Especially food and beverage

Previous experience in Staff Management

Strong administrational skills

Basic finance knowledge

Knowledge of VAT submissions

Excellent people skills

Knowledge of Knightsbridge and Salonbridge

High energy levels

Ability to work under pressure

Operate in the interest of the Company

Computer Literate

Excellent knowledge of Excel
