Purpose of the Job:
The Grade C Controller will report to the Contract Manager. The primary responsibility of the Grade C Controller is to ensure an efficient operation of the Control Room.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Enforce the Company’s ‘Code of Conduct’
• Ensure that the Control Room is fully operational and efficient
• Handle and resolve Staff and Client Complaints
• Carry out duties and tasks as per the Site Job Description
• Ensure that the primary function of the Control Room is always upheld
• Must be able to multi-task from C.C.T.V. monitoring position to answering telephone calls in the Control Room
• Access Control Procedures to be followed
• Responsible for C.C.T.V Investigations
• Responsible for Report Writing Skills
• CCTV surveillance
• Maintain records
• Control access onto the wharf side
• General admin
• Assist with ISPS Code Compliance
• Keep statistics
• Manage shipping into and out of the Cutler area
• Liaise with the electronic and mechanical maintenance contractor
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• PSIRA Grade C Registered
• Matric Certified
• Solid Computer Proficiency (Microsoft Word/Office)
• Valid Driver’s license (Code 08) will be advantageous
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the Security Industry
• 3 to 5 years of Control Room/C.C.T.V. Experience/ Call centre experience
• Profiling – SAMAE (Surveillance and Monitoring Assessment Exercise)
• Profiling – PAW (Personality & Work - Integrity profiling)
• Eye test – 20/20 vision certificate to be supplied by applicant
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office certification
• SASSETA NQF US 11513 Level 4 Credits 15 “Operate Effectively within a
• specified control room environment”
• SASSETA NQF US 11508 Level 4 Credits 10 “Write Security Reports and Take Statements” will be an advantage
• ISASA Security Training – CCTV Body Language & Observation Skills
• Training will be advantageous
• Must have proven experience in electronic security systems and operator training – alarm
• Monitoring systems i.e., CATHEXIS, SCADA
• ISPS training will be an advantage (Training will be provided to the successful applicant)
• First Aid, Fire Fighting, Health and Safety REP training will be advantageous
• Knowledge of the Security Industry regulations including Operational and Client requirements
• Must be able to self-deploy to the Cutler Complex
