SUMMARY:
This is a high-visibility opportunity for an experienced finance professional to step into a group-level role within a multi-entity organisation operating in the education sector.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual group financial reports in line with IFRS
Lead group consolidations, intercompany reconciliations, and elimination entries
Deliver management accounts, forecasts, variance analysis, and financial insights
Prepare annual financial statements, board packs, and audit schedules
Act as key liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators
Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements
Provide technical leadership on IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 9, business combinations, impairments, and revenue recognition
Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, modelling, and strategic initiatives
Support M&A, restructuring, and investment activities including due diligence
Lead, mentor, and review work of junior and group finance team members
Drive process improvement, automation, and reporting standardisation across the group

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CA(SA) preferred or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / CIMA)

Experience:

Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a group finance or consolidated reporting environment
Proven experience with statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance
Experience leading or mentoring finance team members

Skills:

Strong IFRS technical expertise
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
ERP system experience (SAP, EMC or similar)
