Group Internal Control Manager

SUMMARY:
Head Office of a JSE-listed concern, has an interesting opportunity for a Group Internal Control Manager to join their team.  Report directly to the CFO and be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring internal control systems to ensure the integrity of financial reporting, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and safeguarding of company assets.  The role involves evaluating existing management initiatives.  Collaborate with senior management, audit and risk committees and external stakeholders to maintain a robust control environment.  Valid drivers license essential.

POSITION INFO:
Successful incumbent will be in possession of a completed B.Com (Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Internal Audit, Business Administration or related qualification), with professional certifications such as CPA, CA(SA), CIMA or IIA. Minimum 5-10 years experience in internal audit, risk management or a related field with at least 3 years in a leadership / management role essential. KPI's include: designing, implementing and maintaining internal control frameworks across the organisation; conduct regular assessments of internal controls to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and external regulatory requirements; perform risk assessments to identify potential areas of control weaknesses or fraud risks; recommend improvements to processes and controls to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk exposure; develop and deliver training programs to ensure staff awareness and understanding of internal control requirements; monitor the timely remediation of control deficiencies and track progress or corrective action plans; collaborate with Internal Audit, Risk, Finance and Operational teams to ensure alignment of control initiatives; prepare detailed reports to Senior Management and the Audit Committee on the effectiveness of internal controls and identified issues; stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry best practices in internal control and risk management; and perform other related duties as may be required from time to time.
