JOB SUMMARY:
Durban. Opportunity exists for experienced Group Reporting Accountant with Accounting Degree and articles complete to join well-known, well-established company within the Safety services industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of relevant statutory regulations (VAT, Companies Act), advanced Excel knowledge, strong administrative skills with high attention to detail, good time management and communication skills, and the ability to handle pressure and work unsupervised.

Responsibilities:

Preparation of the Group consolidation and consolidation balance sheet proofs
Preparation of the consolidated monthly flash report (Revenue, EBIT, EBITDA and OFCF, including commentary)
Preparation of the consolidated monthly actual Exco reports with commentary
Preparation of the quarterly management and Exco reports for Audit Committee
Assist Internal Reporting Manager on various internal control and internal audit projects including but not limited to documenting process flows, documenting internal controls including risk and control matrix, and CEO / FD sign off as per JSE requirements
Assist the external reporting team with the preparation of annual financial in accordance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), JSE listing requirements, laws and regulations and appropriate industry standards
Provide support to the external reporting team with the preparation of the Group published presentation, commentary, and integrated reporting
Preparation of technical accounting papers
Execute the monthly processing of the general ledger
Prepare statutory tax returns (VAT)
Prepare statutory tax returns (corporate income tax, IT14SD and ad hoc SARS queries) for review by the Group CFO
Assist the Group CFO in implementing identified improvement projects in existing processes, both IT and non-IT related
Assist the Group CFO in the development and monitoring of policies and procedures
Rectify internal and external audit queries
