Based in Kempton Park
R30 - R40 000 ctc


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements:

MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Must have experience in either Mining / Engineering / Technical environment
  • Must have experience in setting policies and procedures
  • Small – Medium sized Company experience
  • Minimum of 4 years HR Generalist experience in a unionized environment
  • Qualification in Human Resources
  • Computer literacy, Intermediate Microsoft Office / Excel / Power point/ Word
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Recruitment:
  • Responsibilities Recruitment Obtaining all approvals for vacancies
  • Preparing and placing of advertisements
  • Ensuring a Job Description is written and signed off for each role
  • Manage full Recruitment, Shortlist process
Performance Management:
  • Liaising with various recruitment agencies in order to attract human resources into the organization
  • Short-listing of applications by comparing candidates against job-relevant criteria
  • Conduct necessary checks required (qualifications, criminal & reference checks)
  • Drawing up of Employment contracts
  • Conducting Exit interviews
  • Ensure that the proper termination process is followed for every resignation
  • Regret unsuccessful applicants Industrial Relations
  • Observe in disciplinary enquiries, appeals, grievances and CCMA and provide minutes when required.
  • Enable Line Management to handle day to day discipline matters and build competence as internal Chairpersons
  • Drafting and sending communication to the CCMA as required
  • Advising employees on disciplinary processes and procedures
  • Hold monthly Shop Steward Meetings and minute Union Official and Shop Steward monthly meetings and file all related communications.
  • Ensure compliance and provide advice regarding all policies.
  • Set up and co-ordinate regular engagement sessions / meetings with various stakeholders.
  • Manage that all polices are signed off in all regions and that these policies along with signatures are communicated, displayed and filed.
  • Type up warnings, advise on previous warnings on file and maintain the employee filing system as far as warnings and hearings are concerned.
  • Ensure all council agreements/circulars are shared, implemented and filed timeously
Training & Development:
  • Set up with the induction programme and training and co-ordinate facilitators
  • Arranging new recruits welcome packs
  • Arranging access control cards for new hires and deactivating terminated employees access card through
Payroll:
  • Oversee payroll and captured on the payroll system
  • Manage all timesheets
  • Ensure compliance with all Payroll/HR Compliance requirements for each Manager / department/region/company
  • Manage the collection and maintenance of employee information.
I.T.:
  • Liaising with the relevant function to ensure logistics are taken care of, e.g. workstation, computer, phone, office keys, etc.
  • Ensure that the new employee and manager have the induction plan and adhere to it – to be signed off and filed on the employee file
  • Assist with the co-ordination of training interventions as required by the operations – manage that all trainings are filed (attendance registers and/or training certificates)
  • Training bookings and arrangements for ad hoc training as well as recording of training HR Administration
HR:
  • Maintain an effective HR data base and accuracy of information on Pastel as well as personal files etc.
  • Attend for purposes of participation and note-taking HR related meetings, i.e. Unions, Management, Registered Bodies, Staff Meetings and Head Office Meetings.
  • Promote communication and adherence to Processes and procedures.
  • Participate in Organizational Design and ensure the grading is accurate of all jobs within the organization.
  • Ensure that all roles have a relevant Job Description signed off.
  • Update and maintain employee filing system.
  • Ensure that Org charts are always up to date and shared with each manager (monthly)
  • Maintain and manage the general HR filing system.
  • Participate in the annual talent review and quarterly performance evaluations and ensure all managers comply.
Remuneration and Benefits:
  • Ensure that staff have a selection of medical cover offerings – as set out by Group
  • Facilitate regular engagements with management regarding Provident fund and medical cover.
  • Implement Group directives and changes accurately and timeously.
  • Manage retirees and terminations program BEE & Employment Equity
  • Set up and attend EE and plan meetings as per the applicable legislative requirements.
  • Minute the meetings and keep on file.
  • Assist in facilitating transformation within departments.
  • Assist with Implementing the Skills Development plan.
  • Apply for relevant skills learnership grants to the relevant SETA. (Where applicable)
  • Manage and monitor the learnerships. (Where applicable)
  • Ensure accurate record keeping for the purposes of BEE verification as well as SETA audits and or Training accreditation purposes.
  • Facilitate the BEE verification process annually.
  • Liaise with Executives regarding Ownership and other BEE initiatives where the Company can earn points.
  • Assist the HR Manager with the submission of the Employment Equity report annually.
