SUMMARY:
We are recruiting a highly skilled and experienced HR Manager for an international high-speed packaging concern based in Northriding, Gauteng

POSITION INFO:
Job Purpose:

  • The Human Resource Manager will lead and execute Human Resources function activities and acts as the HR Business Partner to Management
  • The HR manager act as the subject matter expert for HR related matters, coaches and guides employees on HR policies and practices
  • Develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as recruitment, employment, compensation, labour relations, benefits, training, and employee services
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR function and ensures compliance
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Be responsible for the coordination and controlling of personnel planning in the specific region; to achieve an optimal resource management and active consulting of the local management
  • Implement Company corporate & regional guidelines and concepts within the entity
  • Ensure compliance with Delegation of Authority is followed
  • Be the contact person and consultant for Managers concerning the relevant HR activities and processes (e.g., recruiting, qualification, retention, controlling) and concerning all technical questions regarding HR topics
  • Assure compliance regarding HR topics respecting local and internal requirements
  • Ensure accurate execution of payroll for the entity
  • Participate and to steer the development of new recruiting channels, vocational training, and personnel development concepts within the region
  • Establish and to assure Expatriate Management in the region in close cooperation with company corporate HR (compensation, contracts, Visa...)
  • Be responsible for national HR topics
  • Develop organizational objectives and strategies that are in accordance with local Business and International HR strategies
  • Develop human resources related policies by considering our legal obligations, our company vision and ethos and our objectives including with respect to health and safety, review procedures and grievance processes
  • Develop effective and efficient procedures with respect to recruiting, testing, and interviewing; counselling managers on candidate selection, employee onboarding; conducting and analysing exit interviews; developing programs for training, monitoring, reviewing, and retaining staff
  • Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of historical human resources records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization for all the regional offices
  • Identifies & comply with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions. Ensure all policies, procedures, reporting and related legal documents comply.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
  • Supervise the benefits programs such as life and health insurance, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
  • Oversee and manage the performance management process within the organization
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
  • Effectively and clearly communicate all relevant human resources policies to our staff and ensure that staff is notified as to any changes
  • Contracts with outside suppliers to provide needed employee & HR services
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and disciplinary action
  • Support management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analysing information and applications
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations

Qualification, Experience, Behaviours & Skills
  • Graduate Degree in HR, Business administration or Psychology
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in HR including experience in a global HR environment (matrix organization)
  • Excellent Organizational Management Skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Time Management and planning skills
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information

  • Knowledge of SAP applications, SAGE and MS office
  • Strong knowledge in labour law, familiarity with local laws as they are related to HR topics
