HR Officer

SUMMARY:
Represent the company at CCMA and/or NBCRFLI mediation and arbitration proceedings where required.

POSITION INFO:
Division: BIL Overland - Inland Environment: Warehouse & Transport KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Recruitment & Selection Advertise vacancies and manage the recruitment process. Screen and shortlist candidates for business requirements. Coordinate interviews and provide recommendations to management. Conduct criminal, identity, qualification and reference checks. Ensure all new employees complete the required starter documentation. Payroll Administration Create new employee roles and capture employee information on SAGE. Ensure employee documentation is accurately maintained on the system. Ensure monthly payroll deadlines and requirements are met. HR Administration Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files. Ensure all required HR documentation is completed and filed. Assist with Employment Equity requirements and participate in the Employment Equity and Training Committee. Analyse exit interview feedback and identify trends. Review allocated HR policies annually. Administer employee benefits, including retirement funds and medical aid. Industrial & Employee Relations Provide HR and labour relations advice to employees and management. Advise on corrective action, disciplinary processes and appropriate charges. Attend and provide support during disciplinary, appeal and grievance hearings. Ensure compliance with the company's Industrial Relations policies and procedures. Identify and escalate employee relations concerns and workplace conflicts. Represent the company at CCMA and\/or NBCRFLI mediation and arbitration proceedings where required. Provide support on labour-related matters, including Sections 197 and 189 . Maintain current knowledge of HR legislation, case law and labour relations developments. Reporting & Compliance Prepare monthly reports covering new appointments, terminations, promotions and vacancies. Monitor labour broker appointments to ensure compliance and minimise organisational risk. Maintain accurate HR records and ensure adherence to applicable legislation and company policies. Professional and confident when dealing with sensitive employee and labour matters MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS B Degree or National Diploma in Industrial Psychology or Human Resources Management . 5 to 7 years HR experience in a similar environment, preferably at junior to mid-management level. Proven experience across the full HR function . Strong experience in labour and employee relations within a similar environment. Proven experience handling disciplinary, grievance and labour-related matters. Experience representing an organisation at CCMA and\/or NBCRFLI . Experience with SAGE People \/ SAGE 300 People and other HRIS systems is advantageous. Valid and unendorsed Code B driver's licence .
