HR Officer - Construction Sector

Our client, a national multi-disciplined construction company, specializing in medium to large scale building and civils projects, seeks to employ a qualified and experienced HR Officer, with experience in the Construction sector and who is able to converse fluently in Xhosa, to join their dynamic operation in Cape Town.

Please Note that the role requires a candidate with a strong background in managing every aspect of the employment aspect for wage earners, based on construction sites. The ability to speak fluent Xhosa and English is essential; with Afrikaans being highly advantageous

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:

• You will have completed a tertiary qualification in HR Management or similar field, coupled with 5 years’ experience in a unionized construction or civil construction environment, dealing with mostly blue collar or site-based employees
• You will have a thorough understanding of the processes, procedures and related legislative policies as prescribed by the bargaining council
• In addition, you will have sound working knowledge of Sage People and ESS systems or similar.
• You will have proven experience in the application and adherence to Labour legislation, HR Administration, reporting, identifying, and facilitating training and development needs, as well as managing recruitment and onboarding of both permanent and contractual employees.
• You will also have gained experience in bursar and student programs and deliver results tin creating a positive and motivational workforce.
• You will be flexible to travel if needed, therefore, your own reliable transport is essential, as well as having exceptional interpersonal skills, effectively communicate at all levels, lead by example and deliver results in a high-pressure environment, meeting international standards.

Preference will be given to candidates currently resident in the Western Cape, however, should you be suitable and qualified, and wish to apply but be resident outside of the Western Cape, any cost incurred for interviews or relocation will be at your own expense.
