SUMMARY:

Main Purpose of the Role

Our client within the freight forwarding and logistics sector is seeking a dynamic and detail-driven HR & Payroll Generalist to take full responsibility for the end-to-end HR and payroll function.
This role is operational and strategic in nature, requiring strong compliance knowledge, payroll accuracy, BBBEE coordination, and hands-on HR management across recruitment, industrial relations, skills development and statutory reporting.
The successful candidate will ensure full legislative compliance, drive people development initiatives, and maintain accurate payroll and HR reporting aligned with local and international reporting standards.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

HR Management & Compliance

Oversee full HR administrative function
Ensure adherence to BCEA and Labour Relations Act (LRA)
Manage employee and employer welfare
Handle industrial relations matters in consultation with 3rd party suppliers
Coordinate Employment Equity submissions to the Department of Labour
Prepare and submit Work Skills Plan (WSP) and ATR documentation
Prepare skills development documentation for TETA

BBBEE & Reporting

Coordinate and drive full BBBEE process
Manage relationships with approved 3rd party BBBEE vendors
Prepare HR reports for Regional and Head Office reporting requirements

Recruitment & Development

Manage full recruitment cycle including external checks prior to placement
Drive performance management processes
Coordinate employee development, training and coaching initiatives

Payroll

Responsible for full payroll function
Manage VIP Payroll system
Ensure accurate submissions to SARS and Department of Labour
Maintain payroll compliance and statutory reporting

Minimum Requirements

Matric
Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
Certification in VIP Payroll System
3–5 years’ experience as an HR & Payroll Generalist
Strong working knowledge of BCEA and LRA
Experience with WSP/ATR and Employment Equity submissions
Proven BBBEE coordination experience
Advanced MS Office proficiency
Hands-on experience with VIP Payroll System
