A well-established national services organisation operating in highly regulated, labour-intensive environments is seeking an experienced Human Resources Practitioner to take ownership of its HR and Industrial Relations function.
This is a hands-on, operational HR role for a seasoned practitioner who is confident dealing with complex employee relations matters, trade unions, disciplinary processes and CCMA cases. You will support a large, multi-site workforce across security, cleaning, technical and related service environments.

HUMAN RESOURCES PRACTITIONER – HR \/ IR Salary: Market Related Cape Town, Western Cape   A well-established national services organisation operating in highly regulated, labour-intensive environments is seeking an experienced Human Resources Practitioner to take ownership of its HR and Industrial Relations function. This is a hands-on, operational HR role for a seasoned practitioner who is confident dealing with complex employee relations matters, trade unions, disciplinary processes and CCMA cases. You will support a large, multi-site workforce across security, cleaning, technical and related service environments.    Key Responsibilities Manage the full HR and employee relations lifecycle across a large operational workforce. Act as the primary HR representative when engaging with trade unions, shop stewards and employee representatives Manage organisational rights matters, wage negotiations and labour disputes. Handle CCMA matters from conciliation through to arbitration, including preparation of bundles, witnesses and employer representation. Advise management on the LRA, BCEA, Employment Equity Act, COIDA and applicable sectoral legislation. Manage misconduct investigations, suspensions, disciplinary notices and formal disciplinary hearings. Provide urgent HR support following serious operational incidents, misconduct, negligence, theft or integrity-related matters. Ensure disciplinary processes are procedurally and substantively fair. Oversee high-volume recruitment, screening, reference checking and criminal vetting processes. Ensure appropriate PSIRA, SASSETA and other regulatory compliance where applicable. Maintain accurate statutory HR and Employment Equity records. Coordinate employee training, refresher programmes and compliance-related training. Work closely with Operations and Executive Management on workforce risks and HR strategy.   Minimum Requirements Formal qualification in Human Resources Management, Labour Law, Industrial Relations or similar. 5–7+ years' solid HR\/IR experience. Previous experience within the private security and\/or contract cleaning industry is essential. Extensive hands-on experience representing employers at the CCMA. Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation and disciplinary procedures. Proven experience dealing directly with trade unions and shop stewards. Experience managing high-volume, multi-site operational workforces. Strong investigation, disciplinary hearing and dispute-resolution skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to remain composed and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to operational sites when required.
