Head of Admin and Finance

SUMMARY:
Responsible for the overall management and control of the full financial function for Africa. Financial planning, processing and analyzing of all income and expense related activities and the support thereof. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Direct – Finance Director (Head Office)

CA/MBA/CIMA preferable. Min 4-5 yrs senior finance position within FMCG, particularly in the Food/Confectionary manufacturing Industry.

• Control operational expenses – review/adjust expenses and compare to forecast
• Manage Financial Forecasting – Prepare sales and demand plan in conjunction with Financial analyst, Sales Manager and Marketing department. Review with previous forecast and ensure in line, keeping in mind turnover.
• Preparation, analysis and follow up on annual Company Budget (Financial Statements) per business unit.
• Monthly Management Accounts – Prepare and review monthly management accounts with finance team. Review month end procedures on SAP, close month and send management pack to Colombia. Ensure bank recons and clearing accounts are accurate, make sure books reflect the real financial status of the business, support internal and external auditors in periodic accounting audits, prepare treasury report and send to finance team daily
• Maintain accounting system – ensure overall accuracy and efficiency of the company accounting system
• Review Full Sales Base – review price per KG vs forecast and costs and analyze variances
• Manage business costs – review and analyze business costs on a regular basis and explore cost saving initiatives in line with the best interests of the company
• Maintain SARS compliance – ensure SARS compliance at all times, maintain E-Filing for VAT and PAYE payments and any other tax accounting duties required.
• Manage Debtors department – oversee full debtors control functions including bank factoring
• Manage Creditors department - oversee full creditors function, review and approve payments in banking profile
• Treasury Management, plan and control in conjunction with head office, cash management as well as credit facilities
• Guarantee reliability of accounting records as well as forecast.
• Maintain relationship with banks – negotiate rates, oversee booking of foreign payments, manage all banking products
• Generate finance related reports required by management
• Daily track and update of Fixed Assets Control and Capex.
• Implement and review all finance related contracts, policies and procedures on an ongoing basis
• Manage all IT and HR processes to ensure the company lives to its values and culture, as well as compliance with code of Ethics , HR and IT Policies
