Head of Cold Chain Business Development

SUMMARY:
A leading logistics organisation is looking for an experienced and results-driven Head of Cold Chain to drive new business development and growth within the cold-chain logistics sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new business, developing strategic client relationships, preparing commercial proposals and achieving defined sales targets. This is a senior commercial role requiring strong knowledge of the cold chain and clearing & forwarding industry.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Identify and target new business opportunities within the cold-chain sector. Generate leads and manage the full sales process from prospecting through to securing new business. Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients. Conduct client meetings and presentations at various levels of an organisation. Prepare proposals, estimates and commercial presentations. Develop and implement strategies to win new business and increase market share. Open and establish new business accounts in line with company procedures. Develop and implement SOPs, SLAs and related client documentation. Conduct regular meetings to secure new business and service existing clients. Manage and maintain the CRM system. Negotiate rates with suppliers where required to meet specific client requirements. Handle operational, financial and other client queries. Maintain strong awareness of industry developments, requirements and trends. Provide regular internal and client reporting. Build strong market awareness and promote the organisation within the industry. Provide a high level of client service and maintain long-term commercial relationships. Minimum Requirements Matric essential. Previous Clearing & Forwarding sales experience is essential. 7+ years' proven sales experience . Previous formal sales training. Strong understanding of the cold-chain sector and its unique logistics requirements . Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Strong negotiation skills. Ability to read and interpret financial information, including budgets, financial statements and P&L data. Full computer literacy. Strong strategic and business development capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional and well-presented. Ability to work effectively in a target-driven and high-pressure environment.
