Our clients Digital Career Accelerator is designed to help individuals develop the skills they need to succeed in the digital economy. Our programs offer a range of training and professional development opportunities to enable youth to build their digital skills, such as coding, web development, data analysis, technician whilst developing and practicing essential soft skills such as communication, teamwork, work readiness and problem-solving. ROLE PURPOSE The position is responsible for providing technical leadership in Our client s ICT training by initiating, coordinating, managing, and evaluating innovative technologies / projects. The Head of Digital Training leads the technical training team to deliver the most up-to-date content in an authentic, candidate centric, work simulating manner. The individual is responsible for ensuring the LMS is being optimised and continuously improved. This role may be required to assist the executive with design details for proposals, attend high level external meetings and will own the curriculum intricacies and delivery of the Our client programmes. The Head of Digital Training oversees the IT quality standards across training design and human and physical resources. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for leading, developing and implementing an innovative departmental strategy that is consistent with Our clients holistic development model.
- Representing Our clients digital training at a senior level to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Effectively manage and acquire appropriate departmental resources including recruitment and ensuring that staff reach their potential.
- Ensure that all staff in the department operate to the expected level of performance. Address under performance with the support of HR where necessary.
- To research Africa’s digital training gaps, technical career opportunities and candidate specific needs in order to inform Our clients training content and development in a manner consistent with CiTi’s priorities. Head of Digital Education 2
- Support and motivate candidates, digital trainers and other digital team employees, encouraging consultation and discussion
- Establish partnership links with external organisations, certification providers and industry demand partners to enhance Our clients industry knowledge and candidate success.
- To provide strong leadership and team building in the management of digital content, innovative delivery and integrated assessment alongside Our clients professional skills curriculum
- Lead on identifying strategic areas for new training provision and staff requirements
- Responsible for the design and content of specific areas of facilitation and learning within the digital curriculum
- Cooperate with colleagues across business units in the continuous review and development of programmes and candidate employability
- Promote the use of a range of methods and techniques in teaching, learning and assessment as appropriate for the delivery of contemporary, innovative, confidence-building and practical programmes
- Apply and promote best teaching practice, demonstrating continuous professional development, upskilling and certification, and critical reflective practice.
- Own the development path for the digital team, including gap analysis and pipeline planning.
- Support the development of candidate placement activities with external partners and career services
- Plan, organize, control, and manage the IT department and assessments, balancing productivity, costs and training innovation.
- Handle department budget and ensure cost effectiveness
- Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures for transparent quality assurance and interdepartmental understanding of the departments activities and candidate outputs
- Responsible for ensuring candidates represent their professional digital portfolios in the most relevant manner QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A tertiary qualification - degree level or higher desirable
- Computer Science or Education related qualifications preferable PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience of successful team leadership and management
- Experience in managing multiple stakeholders
- Experience in ICT training (Edtech, corporate or formal academic will be considered)
- At least 3 years’ leadership experience, managing a diverse team
- Continuous ICT learning evidenced through recent certifications/self-study BEHAVIOURS

- Ability to inspire and energise candidates to develop their own love of technology
