Role Overview

This is a newly created, standalone role for a high-growth logistics and distribution leader. As the first dedicated FP&A hire, you will build the function from the ground up, moving the organization from basic reporting to sophisticated, data-driven strategy. You must be a self-starter capable of working independently to analyse profitability, COS, and labour costs.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (CA(SA) highly advantageous).
5+ years of progressive FP&A experience, ideally within logistics, courier, or transportation sectors.
Expert financial modelling and proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
Proven ability to work autonomously in an environment that lacks existing sophisticated financial structures.

Key Responsibilities

Profitability & Revenue Analysis: Analyse revenue streams across segments and regions; identify trends in price, volume, and mix to inform commercial strategy.
Cost Management: Monitor Cost of Sales (COS) and analyse cost drivers related to staff and subcontractors.
Dashboarding & KPIs: Design and maintain executive dashboards; deliver monthly performance reviews and variance analysis.
Strategic Modelling: Develop robust cashflow models and provide scenario modelling/sensitivity analysis to guide executive decisions.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Own the annual budgeting process and implement rolling forecasts to improve agility.
Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and senior leadership, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
