Head of Internal Audit (EE)

SUMMARY:
FMCG manufacturing / production concern, has an opening at their Olifantsfontein office for a Head : Internal Audit. Be responsible for the development and implementation of the Internal Audit strategy and its execution. Successful incumbent must be competent to operate independently and effectively towards a risk management strategy that achieves best-in-class internal control environment.

POSITION INFO:

Start immediately!  Successful incumbent will have a completed National Diploma or B.Tech in Internal Audit / completed B.Com, with a completed CIA (or nearing completion), coupled with 10+ years Internal Audit working experience, including at least 5+ years in leading an Audit Team.  Experience within the FMCG / Manufacturing sector essential.  Responsibilities include: 

• Develop an internal audit strategy that is aligned to the Company’s business objectives/priorities and ensure the integration with other business departments to effectively support the achievement thereof with minimum risk.

• Provide strategic direction for scoping and planning the annual risk-based audit plan that’s aimed at improving the internal control environment
• Provide independent, authoritative and expert advice in respect of internal audit and business processes aligned to industry and internal audit code of best practise
• Review and sign off audit findings and provide meaningful recommendations to improve internal controls, Company policies and/or business processes.
• Leadership of a high-performance/motivated team of internal auditors, as well as build/maintain excellent working relationships with all Internal Audit function’s key stakeholders

• Prepare and present audit reports to EXCO as well as the Audit & Risk Committee
• Ensure that the Internal Audit function is independent and provides advice that is designed to add value and improve the Company’s operations
• Investigate reported acts/incidences of non-compliance to organisation policies and best practice and report on such findings
• Recommend cost effective systems and procedures to prevent fraud, mitigate overall business risk and enhance the internal control environment
• Continuously develop own expertise in terms of industry and subject matter development for application within the Company
• Detailed knowledge of IT-based risk management tools / systems, local / international auditing standards and risk management strategies and techniques.
• Experience in assessing internal business control environment, as designing audit plans and processes.
• Thorough knowledge of and adherence to the regulatory requirements for internal auditing best practices.
