POSITION INFO:
Our client is a wellâestablished group with a strong focus on governance, accuracy, and continuous improvement. They are seeking a Group Technical Accountant to act as the technical backbone of the finance function, ensuring statutory compliance, consistent accounting policies, and highâquality group reporting.
This role sits at the centre of the business, working closely with finance teams, auditors, and senior stakeholders to navigate changing accounting standards, complex transactions, and groupâwide reporting deliverables. The opportunity offers meaningful exposure, autonomy, and involvement in strategic finance projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure groupâwide compliance with accounting standards and assess the impact of new standards
Maintain and update group accounting policies aligned to legislative and business changes
Provide technical accounting guidance across business units
Prepare and oversee statutory reporting, including AFS and group publications
Manage the yearâend reporting process, timelines, and deliverables
Coordinate and manage external audit processes
Support adâhoc group finance projects including systems rebuilds and acquisition analysis
Manage the Group Control SelfâAssessment and internal control processes

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Professionally qualified CA(SA)
Minimum of 5 years postâarticles experience
Strong exposure to technical accounting and statutory reporting
Group reporting or multiâentity experience advantageous
Proven ability to work with auditors and senior stakeholders
Advanced Excel
Strong technical accounting and IFRS knowledge
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and deadlineâdriven mindset
