Head of Product

Role requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution (computer science, electrical engineering, business)
• Fluency in English is a must. Bonus points if you can speak/write one of the more popular languages across Africa (e.g., French, Igbo)
• 7+ years’ experience in end-to-end product management for online products or services, with exposure to relevant technologies and tools, across web and native mobile app product development
• At least some of this experience would be expected to have been in a start-up environment.
• Bonus points if you have also worked with instant messaging-type products before, and also for or with large telco’s
• Solid understanding of current best practices when it comes to the finer detail of what drives successful adoption and engagement
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority; well-versed in stakeholder management
• Strong planning and project management skills including a demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and juggle multiple projects
• Strong analytical skills and ability for conceptual and strategic thinking
• Experience in serving the global market and working in an international environment. Work experience in Africa is a plus
• Some (limited) national and international (Africa) travel will be required
