Head of Sales & Marketing and New Business Development

SUMMARY:
Our client in the beautiful surroundings of Tulbagh is seeking a Head of Sales & Marketing and New Business Development. Will be responsible for formulating and executing strategic sales and marketing plans that drive revenue growth, optimise profitability, and strengthen market presence within the fruit food production and packaging industry. Will lead efforts to identify new market opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and collaborate cross-functionally to support sustainable business growth and competitive advantage.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
2. Advanced qualifications (ie MBA) are highly desirable
3. Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in a Sales/Marketing leadership role, preferably in FMCG or agriculture/food production
4. Proven track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion
5. Strong leadership and project management skills
6. Executive office-based with frequent operational and site visits
7. Regular participation in Board and EXCO meetings
8. Periodic travel to regional facilities and external compliance forums
9. International travel might occur

• Expertise in conducting thorough market research and analysing consumer trends to identify growth opportunities

• Knowledge of pricing strategies to balance profitability with competitive positioning
• Ability to manage costs and contribute to budgeting processes for marketing and sales activities

• Familiarity with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to streamline sales and marketing operations
• Proficiency in digita marketing tools and analytics platforms to track campaign effectiveness and customer engagement

• Use of social media, email marketing, and SEO/SEM
• Managing brand awareness through digital and physical channels
• Development of marketing collateral, promotions, and campaigns

• Competence in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Ability to monitor sales performance metrics and ROI for marketing initiatives
• Interpreting sales and marketing data
• Tracking performance through dashboards and analytics

• Understanding of relevant compliance standards, including food safety certifications and legal requirements affecting marketing and sales practices
