Our client in the Insurance sector has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Sales, Bedfordview

POSITION INFO:

This position Reports to the Board of Directors

 

Overview of the Role:

The Head of Sales is a leading strategic role in the Sales Department. In this position, the Head of Sales is responsible for the sales department in driving sales growth strategies and ensuring that these strategies are adopted amongst all levels of the department. They will be responsible for developing optimisation plans that are based on sales performance reports and is inclusive of the business’s sales information platforms, production steering, budgets and forecasting, market intelligence, sales training, and mentorship. Part of his/her responsibility will be ensuring that the sales department is enabled effectively by ensuring that all sales enablement requirements are met and fulfilled, this includes sales asset management and allocation, operational auditing, and strategic alignment.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increasing the number of sales made within budget and cost structure.
  • Decreasing the cost of acquisition while maintaining or increasing the lifetime value of policies through decentralisation strategies.
  • Growing and establishing new distribution strategies.
  • Optimising current distribution strategies.
  • Client relationship management.
  • Managing performance management processes within sales force.
  • Monitoring and optimising campaign management,
  • Responsible for identifying and understanding trends within the market and amongst consumers.
  • The Head of Sales will participate in sales events, seminars, and workshops, establishing the business as an industry leader while simultaneously identifying, and capitalizing on any prospects.
  • Working closely with the senior sales management to streamlining sales processes/strategies.
  • Providing smart consumer research and industry specific information as well as preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually pipeline reports.
  • Head of Sales assists in the identification of solutions and technologies that drive sales efficiency and, consequently, revenue growth.
  • Responsible for developing optimisation plans/strategies that are based on sales performance reports and surveys as well as ensuring that these strategies are adopted in all levels of the department.
  • Head of Sales also plays a mentorship role to key Sales personnel, assisting in the execution of their duties upon request, ensuring constant improvement in their professional skills.
  • Align planning, forecasting, and budgeting initiatives with business objectives in addition to developing departmental goals and objectives for further sales effectiveness.
  • Manage the operational requirements of the sales departments with respect to sales tools.
  • The Head of Sales will provide leadership and direction to direct reports using team concepts and techniques to accomplish departmental targets and objectives.

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • Tertiary Education in Sales, Marketing, Finance, or any other business-related field.
  • 7 Years + working experience in a Sales department.
  • A suitable candidate will also demonstrate strong business acumen and have proven planning skills and executive presence.
  • Excellent communication and sales skills
  • Effective leadership qualities.
  • Analytical skills to translate information and data into actionable deliverables, strategies, and targets.
  • People skills and the ability to build and maintain strong and lasting relationships.
  • MS Office

 

Salary: R 60k, plus benefits & commissions
