POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities SDLC Ownership & Process Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from planning and development through testing, release, and ongoing support. Establish and enhance structured, repeatable SDLC processes to ensure consistency and efficiency. Provide clear reporting on delivery, quality, and support metrics to ensure visibility across all stages. Drive Agile\/Scrum delivery in collaboration with the scrum master, ensuring effective and outcome-focused execution. DevOps, CI\/CD & Release Management Design, implement, and continuously improve CI\/CD pipelines to support automated builds and deployments. Strengthen release management processes to enable predictable, low-risk deployments. Promote standardisation across environments through automation and configuration management. Foster a DevOps culture focused on collaboration, automation, and continuous feedback. Lead cloud-related initiatives where applicable. Quality & Test Strategy Define and embed a comprehensive testing strategy, including unit, integration, and automated testing. Integrate quality checks into the development pipeline to ensure continuous quality assurance. Drive improvements in test coverage, defect detection, and overall release quality. Application Support & Reliability Ensure the reliability and performance of applications through effective monitoring and incident management. Establish processes to minimise downtime and improve resolution times. Support smooth system rollouts and transitions into operational support. Leadership & Culture Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, promoting high standards and continuous improvement. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align delivery with business priorities. Maintain and strengthen a positive, high-performing team culture. Minimum Requirements 9+ years of experience in software development, with clear progression into technical leadership roles. Proven hands-on experience establishing and maturing SDLC processes into structured, repeatable practices. Strong expertise in the .NET \/ C# ecosystem, spanning both legacy and modern applications. Solid DevOps experience, including CI\/CD pipeline design, release automation, and configuration management. Cloud experience is advantageous, particularly leading or supporting migration initiatives. Demonstrated ability to define and implement effective testing strategies, including unit testing and automation. Experience managing production environments, including application support, incident response, and reliability practices. Strong leadership experience with a track record of building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing engineering teams. Commitment to fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
