SUMMARY:
Head of Talent Management - Cape Town

POSITION INFO:

This role will be accountable for the translation of the Human Capital and business strategy into the Talent Management strategy for the group. The role focuses on driving the development and implementation of an integrated set of frameworks, process and technologies to identify, develop and deploy Talent. Leads the execution of the Talent Management strategy across the business in collaboration with Human Capital Executives and ensures integration with other Human Capital practices.

  • Ensures alignment between the company Strategy, the HC Strategy and the Talent Management Strategy.
  • Leads the organisation in the identification, deployment, development, succession and retention of Talent for key roles within the business.
  • Leads effective design, development, implementation and adoption of the strategy and framework for performance management, talent management, succession planning, and career development across the company.
  • Drives the use of leading practice in the development of the company''s Talent practices and frameworks.
  • Drives innovation and integration of talent processes through technology.
  • Ensures alignment and integration of Talent practices with other HC practices.
  • Leads the company''s Talent function, building a capable and effective team and manages resource allocation.
  • Manages the company''s Talent budget within prescribed guidelines and governances.
  • Guides HC Business Partners on building a talent pipeline and pool that contributes to building key company capabilities and delivery of strategic objectives

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant qualification at Postgraduate Level.  Masters degree is preferable.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in talent management and organisational development in a multinational environment, along with strengths in competency modeling, career pathing, performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • A seasoned senior manager / leader with a track record in successful implementation of large transformation projects / initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Experience in working with talent management programs inside of an enterprise HRIS or HCM globally- experience with Workday preferred
  • Demonstrated creation and implementation of talent management programs from inception
  • Ambitious and driven
  • Ability to be a strategic translator and drive operational excellence
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects/programs concurrently
  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong planning, organisational and project management skills
  • Collaborative and ethical- should be trusted to manage highly sensitive information
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner cross-functionally with  stakeholders at all levels
