📍 Role Overview
The Hospitality HR Manager is responsible for managing all human resources functions within the property or group, ensuring effective people management aligned with business objectives. This role focuses on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and fostering a positive workplace culture within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
 
📋 Key Responsibilities
🧑‍💼 Recruitment & Talent Management

• Manage the full recruitment cycle (sourcing, interviewing, onboarding)
• Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs
• Ensure recruitment aligns with company culture and service standards
• Oversee onboarding and induction processes

• Maintain employee records and HR systems
• Oversee payroll input and staff scheduling coordination
• Manage contracts, job descriptions, and HR documentation
• Ensure accurate reporting on HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, etc.)

• Handle disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution
• Provide guidance to management on labour-related matters
• Promote a positive work culture and employee engagement
• Support staff wellbeing initiatives

• Identify training needs and implement development programs
• Coordinate internal and external training initiatives
• Support leadership development within the team
• Ensure compliance with hospitality service standards

• Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations
• Maintain health & safety standards in collaboration with management
• Keep up to date with HR best practices and legislation
• Ensure company policies and procedures are implemented correctly

• Align HR strategy with operational goals
• Support management in organizational planning and structure
• Drive initiatives to improve staff retention and performance

POSITION INFO:
🎯 Minimum Requirements
🎓 Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field

• 4–7 years’ HR experience, preferably within hospitality (lodges, hotels, resorts)
• Proven experience in managing end-to-end HR functions
• Strong background in employee relations and labour law

• Strong knowledge of labour legislation (e.g., BCEA, LRA – South Africa)
• Experience with HR systems and payroll processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Understanding of hospitality operations and staffing structures

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• High level of confidentiality and professionalism
• Conflict resolution and problem-solving ability
• Organised and detail-oriented
• Leadership and decision-making skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

• May require occasional travel between properties (if part of a group)
• Ability to work flexible hours when required
• On-site/live-in role may be applicable for remote lodge environments
