Human Capital Manager

POSITION INFO:

Suitable candidates will need to have the following minimum qualification and relevant experience:
Requirements:
Minimum requirements / experience

  • BCom Degree or National Diploma in Human Resource Management / Industrial Psychology or related.
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience as an HR Manager
  • Membership of SABPP will be an advantage
  • Experience in a mining environment will be an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the HC strategy by making recommendations on relevant policies, practices, processes
  • systems and initiatives.
  • Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the Human Capital functions and ensure compliance.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data required to formulate a strategic Human Capital plan.
  • Provide input into the development and manage the implementation of operational workforce plans.
  • Recruit and select candidates to fill defined positions.
  • Pre-screen applications and short list suitable candidates (in conjunction with Line Manager).
  • Prepare and conduct employee selection interviews (1st, 2nd, Video, etc.) and identify preferred candidates.
  • Coordinate medical evaluations, conduct management level reference checks, obtain authorisation for Letters of Appointment and issue Letters of Appointment to successful candidates.
  • Coordinate relocations, accommodation and travel arrangements (temporary accommodation, housing, transport, etc.).
  • Monitor employee feedback of onboarding effectiveness and coordinate onboarding program for promotions / transfers.
  • Conduct exit interviews and monitor exit trends and make suitable recommendations.
  • Finalise final payments.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the Succession Planning process.
  • Assist and train managers to manage conflicts and maintain discipline within the project.
  • Assist and train managers to resolve grievances and disputes within the project.
  • Manage conflicts within own area of responsibility and ensure discipline is maintained within own area of responsibility (absenteeism, time management, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
  • Coordinate the Performance Management process and maintain and update data.
  • Supervise individual and team performance, monitor and evaluate team members against performance standards.
  • Ensure adherence with the organisation''s code of conduct and ensure compliance with legal requirements (subcontractors, service providers, etc.).
  • Manage direct reports to achieve project objectives.
  • Plan, organise and monitor work in own area of responsibility.
  • Mentor individuals to enhance the individual`s knowledge, skills, values and attitude.
  • Manage individual careers, conduct on-the-job training and conduct on-the-job coaching.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and liaise with a range of customers.
  • Handle and attend to a range of customer enquiries and complaints.
  • Identify cost saving and cash conservation opportunities and safeguard company assets (fixed and working capital).
  • Establish SHEQ requirements and objectives within area of responsibility and manage SHEQ objectives Comply to SHE standards in the work environment.
  • Apply Human Capital policies and procedures and comply with requirements of the Human Capital Quality Management System.
