SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled CA(SA) with strong technical accounting expertise and leadership experience to join our finance team. This role will focus on IFRS compliance, financial reporting, and advisory support within the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex accounting standards and delivering strategic financial insights.

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:
Lead the implementation and interpretation of IFRS standards (including IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16, and IFRS 17) across the organization
Develop and maintain accounting policies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Oversee financial reporting processes, including GAAP conversions and preparation of statutory accounts
Provide technical guidance on complex transactions and support business units with accounting treatment
Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver strategic financial advice and support decision-making
Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals to ensure high-quality deliverables
Drive process improvements and contribute to finance transformation initiatives

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 7+ years’ experience in financial services, with exposure to insurance sector preferred
Strong background in technical accounting and advisory services
Proven experience with IFRS 17 implementation and other insurance-related standards
Previous experience in Big 4 audit/advisory and leadership roles
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Deep knowledge of IFRS and GAAP frameworks
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver under pressure
Leadership and team development capabilities

Qualification:
Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation non-negotiable.
