IT Disaster Recovery Specialist

SUMMARY:
We are recruiting for a Client: IT Disaster Recovery Specialist, 12 months contract

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose:

• Development of the IT Disaster Recovery (IT DR) Solution for the client.
• Facilitation and coordination of the IT DR testing and related projects to assist the ICT business unit in resolving issues related to application recovery, planning, and recovery plan development and enhancements.
• Manage the IT DR testing calendar and provide test results for documentation and input into the Company-wide Business continuity strategy.

Formal education:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Disaster Recovery/ Business Continuity or equivalent qualification

Technical/Professional Certification

• Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist/Planner (DRCS), Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP),
• Associated Disaster Recovery Planner accreditation, DRP-5000 IT DRP Implementer, Certified Business Resilience IT Professional (CBRITP)

Experience:

• 10+ years of direct work experience in designing, testing, and implementing disaster recovery plans for the IT environments (including data centers, apps, and systems, etc.)
• 8+ years of documenting and maintaining disaster recovery plans
• 5+ years of IT Systems backup management.  
• Understanding of DR and backup solutions/systems and processes
• 8+ years of working knowledge of IT infrastructure platforms, including network and server architecture, virtualization, Databases, and VoIP.
• Must possess strong analytical, managerial, and organizational skills, and must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with multiple teams and business units across the organization. 

Only candidates with the below clearly outlined on their CV will be considered:  Shortlisting of candidates is based on the below:

• A minimum experience in DR Services. At least 8 years of direct work experience in designing/developing, testing, and implementing disaster recovery plans for the IT environments is compulsory.
• + 5 years of IT Systems backup management + 5 years of working knowledge of IT infrastructure platforms, including network and server architecture, virtualization, Databases (Total of at least 3 - 4 requirements) 
• Examples of 2 projects/tasks where the individual has designed, tested, and implemented disaster recovery process/ plan for IT environment. Information to be provided in a form of a reference letter from the company where these services were performed. 
• Qualifications need to as per above, certified copies required as proof.
