POSITION INFO:
Introduction Harmony Gold Mine is looking for an experienced and structurally minded IT Procurement Supervisor to join our Information Services team. Positioned within the IS Technical Support unit, this role bridges the gap between technical requirement definitions and commercial compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day lifecycle of IT assets, handling hardware and software requisitions, and ensuring that all tech procurement activities remain cost-effective and fully aligned with internal Supply Chain procedures and corporate vendor governance. Minimum Requirements Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the position: Education: A related Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a commerce-related field. Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in IT Procurement, Asset Management, or Technical Support environments. Core Skills: Strong technical literacy (understanding of IT hardware configurations, enterprise software licensing rules, and SLA terms), excellent vendor negotiation, and proficiency with ERP procurement systems. Communication: Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain collaborative relationships across Corporate Supply Chain, IS Leadership, and external OEMs. Job Description Summary The IT Procurement Supervisor manages the frontline administrative and operational functions of the IT sourcing workflow. Key responsibilities include: Procurement Lifecycle Supervision: Overseeing technical requisitions, reviewing tech specifications for accuracy, and tracking purchases from order placement through to delivery and deployment. Asset Lifecycle Management: Maintaining the corporate IT asset register; managing software subscriptions, ensuring warranty compliance, and coordinating hardware decommissioning\/disposal. Process Alignment & Governance: Ensuring all IS procurement requests comply with corporate legal protocols, Harmony financial delegations, and group Supply Chain procedures. Vendor & Service Management: Verifying that technology vendors deliver on hardware\/software fulfillment timelines, reviewing price adjustments, and assessing vendor delivery against predefined SLAs. Subordinate Oversight: Monitoring and coaching technical support and procurement clerks to hit departmental processing turnaround times and quality standards.
