IT Support Engineer (JB1513)

Alberton, Johannesburg

R25 000 – R30 000 CTC per Month

Duration: Permanent

Overview

The IT Support Engineer will be required to provide onsite and remote support to clients, previous experience in Server Infrastructure, Networking and Technical Support at an intermediate to advanced level is required.

Minimum Requirements:

CompTIA A+ and N+

MTCINE ( Mikrotik Inter networking Engineering)

Fortigate Firewall NSE 4-9

MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional)

Desktop Support Technician Certifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver both onsite and remote support for 365 OS and Windows software and applications

Proactively monitor device status through central monitoring system and provide correct actions

Administer Active Directory, Terminal Services, Office 365 Office & Application, Anti-Virus and Data Back Ups

Implement Win Servers, Workstation , Printers , Network Routers & Switches , IP Phone and Wi-Fi Access Points

Provide 3rd party vendor management as IT Administrator on various, accounting, ERP, CRM, T&A Applications

Perform periodic maintenance on servers, workstations, switches, routers, switch and other end point devices

Meet the required service level turnaround times as requited and escalate problematic requests

Communicate efforts with the user throughout the request time lines

Networking:

UTP Cable Termination, Patching, Configuration, and Testing

Troubleshoot internal and external (LAN /WAN) IP connectivity

Branded Firewall policy configuration and firmware updates

Branded Network switches port configuration and firmware updates

Configuring Virtual LANs, SD-WAN and IP Sec Tunnels

Implement hardware, routers, switches, firewalls

Server Infrastructure:

Implement /Configure/Maintain/Administer Enterprise applications (Active Directory, Exchange, Veeam, VMware, ESET etc.) hosted on Windows Server Operating Systems and test operational functionality.

Windows Server 2012 R2/2016/2019 (GPO's, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP).

Administrative

Log service request within central service software system

Close completed service and update notes

Maintain accurate time sheets for support billing

Design hardware and software solution with sales account managers

Demonstrate technology technical features and functions
