SUMMARY:

Industrial Engineer – Data Analyst

POSITION INFO:

Department: Data & Analytics
Reporting To: Procurement Manager
Location: Summerset West, Western Cape

Job Purpose: Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing operational, production, and business data to support decision-making, improve processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs. The role blends industrial engineering principles with data analytics to drive optimisation initiatives across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Collect, clean, and interpret operational data from multiple systems.
Develop dashboards and automated reports (Power BI/Tableau/Excel).
Perform trend analysis, variance analysis, and performance tracking.
Identify inefficiencies using statistical methods and data models.
Conduct time & motion studies, workflow analysis, and capacity modelling.
Use Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to improve processes.
Recommend process enhancements backed by quantitative findings.
Build forecasting models and support automation initiatives.
Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs.
Present data insights clearly to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (essential).
Certification in Data Analytics / BI / SQL / Python (advantageous).
4+ years in industrial engineering or data analytics.

Technical Skills

Power BI, Tableau, Excel (advanced).
SQL, Python, R (advantageous).
Lean tools, process mapping, value-stream mapping.
Statistical analysis including regression and forecasting.
ERP/MES systems such as SAP, Syspro, Oracle.
