SUMMARY:
We are recruiting for an Interim Marketing and Communications Manager, for a 3-month contract. The main job purpose is to lead and manage the delivery of integrated marketing, strategic communications, public relations, and stakeholder engagement initiatives that enhance organisational visibility, strengthen brand positioning, and promote the organisation as a thought leader and preferred partner within its sector.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Implement the organisation’s Marketing and Communications Strategy and operational plans.
Provide input into the Annual Performance Plan (APP).
Monitor and report on performance against strategic objectives.
Represent the organisation in relevant forums and committees.
Develop and implement a Stakeholder Engagement Strategy aligned to organisational goals.
Collaborate with internal departments to align communication requirements.
Manage consistent messaging across internal and external stakeholders.
Compile monthly progress and performance reports.
Provide advisory support to internal departments on communication initiatives.
Manage advertising campaigns (print and digital).
Manage external communications vendors and service level agreements.
Oversee branding across all materials, platforms, and communications channels.
Serve as a key liaison for media engagement and public relations activities. Lead and manage the marketing and communications team.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) will be advantageous.
Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in marketing and communications.
At least 3–5 years in a management or leadership role.
Experience across:
- Marketing and brand management
- Public relations and media liaison
- Stakeholder engagement
- Event management
- Digital communications and social media
Experience within a SETA or public sector environment is advantageous.
