Intermediate Database Administrator

SUMMARY:
Our client a leader in global technology is seeking a dynamic highly skilled candidate to join our Database Administrator team who is passionate about data. Their team looks after a large geographically distributed Microsoft SQL Environment that utilizes many of the latest SQL functionality, and constantly seeks to leverage new features as they become available to enhance performance and reduce latency between their systems. Their business is fast paced and requires data that is real time, accurate and responsive. To accomplish this, their team works closely with our Development and Business Intelligence departments to not only provide data, but supply input into best practices to ensure they meet the business expectations. POSITION INFO:
Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server database environments
• T-SQL Scripting and development on both new and existing functions
• Troubleshoot and resolve server, database, and data issues
• Security maintenance of server and database
• Maintenance and monitoring of SQL environment
• Provide debugging assistance to development staff with DBMS
• Monitoring and completion of all DBA related Service desk calls
• Backup setup and monitoring
• Participates in providing 7-day/24 hour on-call support.

• 5 + years’ experience in SQL database administration
• Relevant SQL certification / degree / diploma would be advantageous
• Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / 2012 / 2014 / 2016/ 2017 /2019 experience with database administration, including installation and troubleshooting issues
• Install and configure Reporting services, Power BI, SSIS and Cubes
• T-SQL Scripting experience
• Database Security
• Have in depth SQL internal knowledge
• Backup and recovery experience
• Performance tuning on SQL
• Windows Server and Windows firewall knowledge to support SQL server environment
• Always on Experience would be advantageous
• Failover clustering Experience would be advantageous

• Replication experience
• Partitioning Experience
• SSIS experience advantageous
• Support machine learning on SQL to run Python and R on relational databases
• Microsoft Azure SQL Database knowledge and exposure
• Service Broker exposure will be advantageous
• Exposure to Kafka/K SQL will be advantageous
